Build Your Own Satellite

A interactive demo for science education

Sorry, this Java Applet only works on a laptop or desktop.

It was a gift sent to San Jose Tech Museum by Lockheed Martin. I did the code and my coworkers provided the concepts and the images. Since the original link to the demo is removed, I post it here so our educational efforts would not be wasted.

Instructions

Wait for the Satellite Construction Set program to load on your computer.

Select a satellite mission from the three choices given.

Build your satellite by installing 5 correct satellite sub-systems from the 8 possible sub-systems shown below.

Its easy! Just click and drag each sub-system into place on the outlined diagram. When you match a part to its outline, release the mouse and the sub-system will snap into place.

The sub-systems will automatically check off on the "Sub-systems Needed" list.

You'll find some information and some clues in the text area in the lower left of your screen.

Please be patient while the Java Applet and images are loading.
